Ian is a local Folk Music legend beloved by both his fans and the music community for his outstanding contributions to not only the Ottawa Valley folk music tradition but also to the Canadian folk music canon.
Ian has won and been nominated for numerous awards throughout his career including a JUNO Award in 1976, a CFMA in 2010 and a 2022 CFMA nomination for English Songwriter of the Year.
In 2021, Ian was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada for his enduring contributions as a folk music icon.
Forty-five albums, CDs and cassettes later, he just released a retrospective of his work entitled Scenes through a Mirror.
